Pierce Transit seeks help in designing bus routes

Pierce Transit is soliciting ideas about how bus routes could be changed to better serve the public.

The agency has set up an online portal to take suggestions.

People can log on to bit.ly/27bGtPL to provide feedback. A “build your own system” tool allows people to prioritize service enhancements, such as adding more frequent bus service.

People can leave written comments via a “feedback” tab.

In April, the agency board voted to tap its swollen reserve account to begin restoring service hours lost during the Great Recession.

Public input will be part of formulating how and where the hours will be restored, according to the agency.

Pierce Transit has hired a consultant to do a comprehensive service analysis of its routes. The work is expected to be completed by fall, and a series of public meetings then will be held to discuss the consultant’s recommendations.
