Man dies after jumping into SeaTac’s Angle Lake
A man in his 20s died Saturday afternoon in Angle Lake, said Kyle Ohashi, spokesman for the Kent Regional Fire Authority.
The body was recovered about 6 p.m. by dive teams from King County Sheriff’s office and Valley Regional Fire Authority. The man reportedly jumped out of a small inflatable boat at about 3:30 p.m. and immediately sank, according to a statement released by the Kent Regional Fire Authority.
Ohashie said rescue teams spent an hour searching the lake’s surface without luck. The dive teams used sonar to find and recover the body. Firefighters from Burien, Renton and South King County also responded to the call.
Saturday was the first day of National Safe Boating Week.
