A Glenoma resident found a stranger in his kitchen eating a bowl of cereal. When the stranger tried to run away, the resident and another man tracked him down and tied him up, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the home on the 100 block of Glenoma Road at about 5:20 a.m. Monday.

“Basically, the suspect goes into the residence … and apparently pours himself some cereal, puts some milk in it and is eating it,” Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dusty Breen told Lewis County Sirens.

The resident and another man chased the suspect down the road and ordered him to the ground at riflepoint, according to Seattlepi.com. The two men then hog-tied the suspect and waited for deputies.

The suspect, 52, was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary and booked into the Lewis County Jail. Breen said the suspect “admitted to recently trying a new drug while in the woods” and claimed he’d been in Florida a few hours earlier.
