Woman in southeast part of county reports being raped
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rape reported in the Clearwood Community south of Yelm, the department wrote in a release Thursday.
Deputies were dispatched to the southeast Thurston County community Thursday after a woman reported being raped by an unknown male near the Sunset Beach area. The Clearwood Community is off Bald Hill Road near Clear Lake.
The woman told deputies she wandered away from a group of friends early Wednesday morning and was walking down a trail when she was approached and raped by the suspect.
The suspect was described as a 40-year-old white man approximately 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds. He was reported to be clean-shaven with dark eyes.
