Pierce Transit to hold open houses for long-range plan
Pierce Transit will hold a series of open houses next month to solicit input on its 25-year plan, titled Destination 2040.
Several future service options will be presented at the events. The options are based on population and employment projections and other factors, including buildable lands, household and employment densities, and activity at industrial centers.
“An important part of the process is gathering community input about services and routes the public would like the agency to provide,” Pierce Transit said in a news release.
The open houses will be:
▪ Feb. 3, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the Hilltop Community Room, 1202 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Tacoma. The location is served by Pierce Transit routes 28, 45, 57 and 102.
▪ Feb. 16 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Puyallup Public Library south meeting room, 324 S. Meridian. The location is served by Pierce Transit routes 402 and 425.
▪ Feb. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pierce Transit Training Center Building 5 Rainier conference room, 3720 96th St. SW in Lakewood. The location is served by Pierce Transit routes 48 and 300.
Registered Shuttlecustomers can arrange transportation to and from the events by calling 253-581-8000 one to five days in advance of the open house they wish to attend.
