Skagit Valley College softball team swept by Everett

EVERETT - The Skagit Valley College softball team fell to Everett 12-4 and 10-2 on Monday in a pair of five-inning Northwest Athletic Conference North Region games.

In the first game, the Cardinals led 2-1 in the second inning before the Trojans proceeded to score 11 runs in the next three innings.

Skagit Valley's Lola Wylie was 2-for-2 with a double, Mallory Butenschoen 2-for-2 with a double, run scored an a RBI, and Kaelin Blakely 1-for-3 with a home run, run scored and two RBI.

In the second game, the Cardinals trailed 10-0 before scoring twice in the final inning on a two-run home run by Butenschoen.

Butenschoen was 1-for-2 with a run scored and two RBI, while Annalee Cohn was 2-for-3.

Butenschoen was also the Cardinals' starting pitcher in both games, while Camdyn O'Neil came on in relief in both games.

The Cardinals are 3-12 in North Region play and 3-16 overall.
