Chehalis man charged with first-degree child molestation
May 27-A Chehalis man faces up to life in prison after he was charged with four counts of first-degree child molestation.
Lajoska F. Nozsar, 62, made a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court Wednesday. He will look to retain private defense counsel.
During the hearing, a judge set bail at $500,000 cash or bond, and granted the state's request for a sexual assault protection order on behalf of the victim, as well as an order for Nozsar to surrender any firearms within his possession.
Nozsar's release conditions prohibit him from frequenting locations where minor children are known to congregate. He's also prohibited from having any direct or indirect contact with minor children.
The Chronicle is limiting details of the charges and investigation to protect the victim's identity.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the alleged offenses occurred within the last several months.
Investigators spoke with Nozsar on May 27. During that interview, Nozsar allegedly admitted to committing a number of crimes against the victim.
Nozsar reportedly "wrote an apology letter" following the interview, according to the affidavit.
He was scheduled to appear for an arraignment on May 28.
