Stabbing near Battle Ground leaves man dead, woman seriously injured

BATTLE GROUND - A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing near Battle Ground on Friday afternoon.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office responded at 1:28 p.m. to a home on the corner of Northeast 117th Avenue and Northeast 244th Street. Deputies arrived to find two people had been stabbed, according to a news release.

Deputies say a suspect is in custody. The Clark County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

While the investigation continues, Northeast 244th Street is closed from state Highway 503 west to Northeast 239th Street. Deputies advise drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

The sheriff's office has not yet released the names of the people involved or the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Officials say no additional information is available at this time.
