Travel ban: Trump wins at Supreme Court
Not surprisingly, the liberal press and mainstream media downplayed President Trumps’s big travel ban victory at the Supreme Court.
Trump was trying to keep Americans safe. With the increasing terrorist attacks in Europe and the car attack last year by a Somali refugee at Ohio State University, there appears to be plenty of credibility for his actions.
Did the Democratic Attorney Generals’ lawsuit help keep us safe? No, this was just another example of anti-Trump resistance politics by a bunch of self-righteous AGs, led by Washington state’s Bob Ferguson.
After gloating about his “victory” in federal court, Ferguson sanctimoniously declared “the Constitution prevailed today.” The Constitution prevailed when the Supreme Court unanimously overturned the lower courts and allowed Trump’s travel ban to move forward.
Some reports have suggested that Chief Justice John Roberts was worried about the court’s image. He therefore devised a compromise, letting those with a bonafide relationship to a U.S. citizen enter the country. Justices Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch disagreed.
Could a Yemeni nephew or uncle of a US citizen have terrorist ties? Just asking.
All Americans expect our elected officials to protect us against future terrorist attacks. Democrats need to get on board.
