SUMNER: Graffiti isn't a big problem
Re: “Sumner businesses fed up with graffiti” (TNT, 7-23).
Normally I wouldn’t be surprised to see an article on Sumner in The News Tribune, but I was very surprised to see Sumner featured on the front and back pages concerning the topic of graffiti.
I am quite sure every place has to deal with a few people who choose to leave their mark by using a spray can rather than by using their wits and positive efforts. But to see the TNT focus on this issue was really surprising as there is no story on this topic.
I do wish you would have mentioned what a “Leave it to Beaver” kind of town that we see ourselves as, with the parades down Main Street, our award-winning high school band, great shops and restaurants, friendliness, active senior citizen center, super public library, walkability, concerts in the park, two performing theater groups, wine walks and countless other positives that add to the enjoyment of living in Sumner.
People should visit here and try some rhubarb pie and kindness and judge for themselves if there is graffiti in Sumner.
