Shaq Refuses To Text Any Current NBA Players. Here's Why

Shaquille O'Neal is one of the most recognizable stars in sports history.

The 7-foot big man, who won four championships during his legendary career, said that he wants to live his life as a normal guy these days, though. O'Neal, who made hundreds of millions of dollars during his playing career - and a lot more through endorsements and business moves - said in an interview with The New York Post that he refuses to speak with any current NBA players.

Why?

He doesn't want to be a celebrity.

O'Neal said he doesn't keep in touch with anyone.

"None. I don't like athletes or superstars because they're (expletives)," he said. "I denounced myself from being a celebrity about 10 years ago because those people are weird. I'm not weird."

O'Neal said he always tries to behave like a normal person.

The legendary NBA star is trying his best

O'Neal, who starred collegiately at LSU, doesn't have a huge entourage. He doesn't roll up on events with a massive group of people.

He's trying to be normal.

"Whenever I come, it's me and two guys. No entourage. There's nothing but homeboys coming in," he said. "We come in here, we take care of business… We sign autographs. We treat people with honor and respect… I want to be a regular guy."

It's a cool move from Shaq.
