Adna moved into sole possession of first place in the Central 2B League on Friday, shutting out Napavine 4-0 to take a one-game lead on the Tigers at the top of the table.

The Pirates got on the board in the first thanks to an RBI groundout from Aiden Percival, and they added another run on a wild pitch in the second.

In the fourth, Cameron Nakano hit a two-run single to double the advantage to 4-0.

That was all Nakano needed on the mound, as the senior tossed seven shutout frames, allowing just two hits, walking two, and striking out seven.

Jack Pennington added two hits and scored a run, and six other Pirates (including Nakano) finished with a hit in the win.

Beckett Landram and Grady Wilson picked up Napavine's two hits, while Hudson Chambers allowed the four runs in four innings, but only two of them were earned.

Chambers also struck out five, while Tommy Deebach threw two scoreless frames of relief.

At 12-1 in league play, Adna (15-1) now leads Napavine (15-2), which is 11-2 in league play, by one game for first in the C2BL.

The two teams will meet again on Monday in Napavine. If the Pirates win, they'll clinch the C2BL title. If the Tigers win, they'll be tied heading into the final series of the regular season.
