Caitlin Clark Earns Praise For Actions Towards Young Fan After Preseason Win
For the first time in 2026, Caitlin Clark took to the court in real minutes for the Indiana Fever. And while it may have been an exhibition game, the impact that she had on one young fan afterwards was very real.
Indiana defeated the New York Liberty 109-91 at the Barclays Center to open their preseason account. Clark had seven points, two rebounds and two assists in brief action for the team.
Afterwards though, as she walked off the court, Clark spotted some young Fever fans in the crowd. She walked over to them, took her shoes off, autographed them and gave it to a young boy wearing a Fever hat.
A wonderful gesture
Fans praised Clark for giving that young fan a moment he'll never forget. It served as a reminder just how much she enjoys interacting with the fans as well.
"Love it. Like she said before, she loves to engage with the fans. Said she got to a lot more last year bc sher didn't play bc of injuries. Said she'll be playing more this year if healthy so won't be able to engage with fans as much as last year. Gave a lot of shoes away at Iowa also," one user pointed out on X.
"One thing about Caitlin Clark is she ALWAYS gives back to the fans. Whether she's playing, or even last year when she was hurt she still went to away arenas & signed countless autographs. Saw CC do the same thing when she traveled the country playing in college," NBC's Kylen Mills wrote.
"Worth so much.. New season new CC. She missed her fans," wrote a third.
"Caitlin the true goat on and off the court. Just start the season healthy."
2025 was a rough year for Clark as injuries limited her to just a handful of games. The Fever managed to make the playoffs regardless, but ultimately lost to the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces.
Clark is expected to be better than ever in 2026 now that she's all healed up.
Fans certainly can't wait to see it when the results on the court start to matter.
