Black Hills did what it could to battle back from an early nine-run deficit on Wednesday, but the early hole proved too big to climb out of as the Wolves fell to the Bobcats 10-6.
Aberdeen scored nine runs in the opening frame to take a commanding 9-0 lead, but the Wolves chipped away with three in the first and two in the second to make it 9-5 heading into the third.
After the slew of early runs, both offenses slowed down. The Bobcats added their final run in the third before going scoreless over the final four, while the Wolves only tacked on another run in the fourth before also putting up zeros in the last three innings.
Jackson Marshall collected three hits and drove in three runs, while Brody Rice added three hits of his own to go along with an RBI. Jake Tinsley added a hit and an RBI, Elijah Simpson drove in a run, and Cooper Parkinson added two hits and scored twice.
Black Hills (3-12, 1-10 C2BL) will host W.F. West on Friday.
