ESPN Believes This College QB Will Be the New York Jets' Next Starter
New York Jets fans are tired.
It isn’t funny anymore.
Every season has turned into some cruel joke against Gotham’s once-finest, as they have gone 15 years without a playoff appearance.
Aaron Rodgers was going to turn the team around, and not only did he not, but the future Hall of Famer set the team back, more than likely, for a half-decade.
For the 2026 season, Geno Smith, who led the Las Vegas Raiders to the worst record in 2025, is now New York’s starting signal-caller.
Hope, if there was any left in a fanbase, has been wiped out, with some Jets fans already looking towards the 2027 NFL Draft.

In what could be the best QB draft of the century, even surpassing the likes of 2018 and 2024, the Jets are already being linked to taking (hopefully) their franchise QB of the future.
Maybe, just maybe, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for Jets fans.
“The Jets loaded up on skill position players in last week’s draft, getting tight end Kenyon Sadiq and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. in Round 1,” wrote ESPN’s Jordan Reid. “But 2027 is a great time to draft a young quarterback. Despite being mocked as a high first-round pick in early 2026 projections, Moore decided to return to school and expand on his 20 career starts. … He’s a smooth operator but must do a better job of withstanding pressure, as his accuracy tends to wane when defenses hit him early.”
Moore was heavily linked to the Jets before the 2026 NFL Draft, but the gunslinger decided to stay for a final year in Eugene with the Oregon Ducks in hopes of winning a College Football Playoff national title.
In 2027, he might finally trade in his green jersey for another and give the forlorn Jets fanbase something to get excited about.
