Draymond Green Weighs In on JJ Redick's Controversial Take on LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently down 2-0 in their second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and head coach JJ Redick made a postgame comment after Game 2 that quickly went viral on social media.

Amid criticism of the officiating, Redick said he believes LeBron James gets the "worst whistle" of any star in the league, pointing to James attempting just five free throws through the first two games of the series.

“LeBron has the worst whistle of any star player I’ve ever seen,” Redick said Thursday night.

Responding on his podcast, Draymond Green pushed back on that take, arguing that the label actually belongs to his teammate Stephen Curry.

"JJ Redick says LeBron has the worst whistle of any star player he's ever seen. Has he ever watched Steph Curry play? Is Steph Curry considered a star player? Got nothing but love for Bron, but if Steph Curry is a star player - which I think he is - no one gets a worse whistle than Steph Curry," Green said.

Curry averaged 5.1 free-throw attempts per game this season, while James averaged 5.3, meaning they shot a very similar number of attempts overall.

However, the context is often debated, as James typically operates more in the paint and through contact, while Curry's game is heavily perimeter-oriented and three-point focused.
