WWE Legend Ric Flair 'Taking Time' To Focus On Health After Outburst Towards Son
WWE legend Ric Flair has had an eventful last 24 hours on social media, make no mistake about it.
Flair threatened to sue his son, David, for using his incredibly popular last name for his business in North Carolina. The Hall of Famer posted this message on social media: "I would like anyone who is using my trademarks, which are impossible to own and I own mine, to know that I'm well represented by a reputable $1000 per hour attorney that makes a living suing people that abuse my trademark."
In a follow-up post, Flair clarified that he's not going to sue his own son.
"I'm Obviously Not Suing My Son. Just Reminding Him That You Can't Have The Best Of Both Worlds! Use Your God-Given Name, Fliehr, Which Isn't Worth A Cup Of Coffee. Or Your Wife's Name, Who Has Had 3 Generations Of Success. Also, Please Don't Sell My Robes That I Let You Use During Your Career As You Have Already Sold One. You're 47 Years Old… Now Stand On Your Own Two Feet Please."
Later this Saturday, the 16-time world champion revealed that he's taking a break from social media to focus on his health. He also issued an apology to his fans.
"If You Understood The Health Issues That I Deal With And Am Currently Dealing With, You Would Understand Why I Get Frustrated In Life With A Lot Of People," Flair wrote. "I'm Sorry For The Frustration. I Am Taking Time To Focus On My Health."
WWE fans are alarmed by Flair's recent actions.
While there are plenty of fans who want to see Flair get back on track, others believe he has tarnished his legacy for good.
"You come off as entitled and bitter at every opportunity," one fan said. "You need to address why that is because it's slowly ruining the little reputation you have left."
"How about you get off the internet," a second fan wrote. "You're tarnishing your legacy and perception."
"Just keep being Ric Flair. Apologize along the way and make memories. We all say things fueled by different emotions," another fan said.
We'll see if Flair can turn his image around at the age of 77.
