Indiana Fever Injury Update: Is Caitlin Clark Paying Today?

Superstar guard Caitlin Clark is undoubtedly the Indiana Fever's most important player. Not only does she bring plenty of attention to the team with her popularity, but she also impacts the game in a lot of ways that make the team dangerous.

In her first two seasons in the WNBA, Clark averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.4 steals in 53 games played. She led the league in assists per game (8.4) in her rookie season, and she remains one of the best playmakers in the league today.

Clark's shooting also forces defenses to scheme differently against her, as she is often guarded at half-court and sometimes double-teamed.

This 2026 season, Clark is averaging 22.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 8.5 assists. She's third in the league in scoring and first in assists.

However, Clark's health is a major talking point this campaign. She played just 13 games in 2025 due to a groin injury and a bone bruise, and while she has recovered physically, she has been open about the mental hurdles she's still trying to overcome following her health setbacks.

Caitlin Clark Injury Status for Fever vs. Fire (May 30)

Clark was listed on the Fever's injury report before their game against the Portland Fire on Saturday due to her lingering back injury. She was initially listed as probable before being made available over an hour before tipoff.

To recall, the 24-year-old guard briefly left Indiana's season opener against the Dallas Wings to get her back adjusted, and then missed a game against the Fire because of a similar issue.

As Clark continues to manage the issue, the Fever have continued adding her to the injury report. In fact, in their most recent game against the Golden State Valkyries, Indiana labeled her as probable before upgrading her to available.

Fever head coach Stephanie White said before their Valkyries showdown that Clark's inclusion on the injury report is more procedural than medical, and that fans can expect to see her added to the report moving forward.

"Just to make sure that there's clarity and no issues with league policy, I think that we will," White said when asked if Clark will be listed as probable in their upcoming games. "I think you can expect to see it probable going forward."
