3 Countries Named 'Worst' Fans at the 2026 World Cup
The 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup is nearly one week old heading into Thursday.
There's been a whole lot of excitement thus far. Games have been played in Mexico, the United States and Canada. Mexico won the first game of the tournament last Thursday, June 11, while the United States dominated Paraguay, 4-1, in the Americans' opening-round game last Friday.
Millions have traveled to North America for the 2026 World Cup, flooding cities like New York, Dallas, Toronto, Boston, Mexico City and others.
While most fans are getting praised for their behavior in North America, three notable countries have been named the "worst" in the tournament.
Three countries, according to the latest rankings surfaced online, have been labeled the three worst at the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup.
3. England
England notched a big win over Croatia on Wednesday. Led by Harry Kane, the English looked like a frontrunner in the tournament.
However, their fans have been ranked among the worst in the tournament.
"England supporters follow the team all over the globe and are always loud and proud. While the hooliganism of the 1970's and 1980's in English football has largely been eliminated, there is still the feeling that England fans can be 'confrontational' and 'sometimes aggressive,'" the rankings read.
2. Argentina
Argentina, which is coming off a World Cup win in 2022, looks the part of a contender once again. Lionel Messi is coming off a hat trick in Game 1, after all.
But Argentina's fans have been criticized.
"The three-time World Cup winners live and breathe football and bring an intensity that is almost unmatched. Chants, drums, flags, flares and the presence of organized ultra groups like 'La Doce' of Boca Juniors' all contribute towards the electricity," the rankings state.
1. Turkey
Turkey, which will face the United States next Thursday, June 25, tops the rankings in the fan base poll.
"Home to some of the most passionate clubs around, particularly in Istanbul, Turkey takes third place because of its 'volatile fan culture' and 'choreographed intimidation,'" the rankings add.
Japan's fans, meanwhile, have been labeled among the best in the entire tournament, as everyone is incredibly impressed by their clean and classy behavior.
