Here’s where to find the best pie in Tacoma, according to TNT readers
Pie is often associated with major holidays and events — apple pie on the Fourth of July, pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving — but it’s a great contender for a year-round treat.
The News Tribune recently asked readers to vote for their favorite place in and around Tacoma to get the dessert. Here are the results.
1. Antique Sandwich Co.

This homey eatery in Tacoma’s North End took the No. 1 spot among readers for its homemade pie. The bakery and cafe bakes quite a bit of pie each day, along with its long lineup of sandwiches. There’s a range of cream and fruit pies in flavors like marionberry and blueberry peach, but you’ll have to call or go in-person to see the daily selections. Pie slices are $6.95, but whole pies are also available.

Met Market carries quite a range of pie, whether its from the store’s own bakery or from bakeries across the Pacific Northwest. You can buy pies whole, half or by the slice. Met Market’s own selections include strawberry rhubarb, marionberry and cherry, and slices go for $4.99. Other pie-makers at Met Market include Whidbey Pies, based in Langley; Willamette Valley Pie Co., based in Oregon; and the Seattle-based bakery Belle Epicurean.

This longtime Tacoma bakery has an almost overwhelming amount of goodies, but you’ll probably have to order ahead to taste their extensive variety of pies. Flavors include apple, marionberry, peach, peanut butter chocolate and chocolate marsala cream. Lots of the flavors come in gluten-free versions, and many can be made vegan or both vegan and gluten-free. Classic pies go for $39, just vegan pies are $42, and gluten-free pies are $43.
4. Eudora’s Bakery and Cafe

This bakery on Sixth Avenue doesn’t try to appeal to the masses with dozens of different treats, but instead has honed in on a few family recipes, including sweet potato pie. The pies come in full size ($26) or mini size ($6). Other pies include apple, pecan and peach cobbler.
