Taco Bell Is Bringing Back the Enchirito

The wait is over: Taco Bell is officially bringing back the Enchirito nationwide for a limited time.

For the uninitiated, the Enchirito is part enchilada, part burrito and completely delicious. The Taco Bell classic starts with a flour tortilla stuffed with seasoned beef, refried beans and diced onions. It's then covered in Taco Bell's red sauce and topped with melted cheese.

The returning Enchirito costs just $3.99 at participating locations, making it one of the more affordable menu items at Taco Bell right now.

The Enchirito first debuted in 1970 and quickly became a fan favorite thanks to its fork-and-knife presentation and hearty combination of burrito and enchilada flavors.

Taco Bell discontinued the Enchirito in 1993, only to bring it back in 1999 after overwhelming customer demand. It disappeared again in 2013 and has since returned only as a limited-time offering in 2022 and 2023.

Fans Are Already Losing It Over the Enchirito's Return

Taco Bell fans are celebrating the Enchirito's return with the kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for album drops and sports championships. Some people say the new Enchirito looks even bigger than they remember. Others are thrilled simply to have it back on Taco Bell menus after years of uncertainty.

Of course, longtime fans have noticed one thing missing: the Enchirito doesn't include the three iconic black olive slices that topped the original version back in the 1970s. For some Taco Bell purists, that detail is part of the nostalgia.

Still, most fans seem more than happy to overlook the missing olives. After all, the Enchirito is back at Taco Bell, covered in red sauce and gooey cheese just like they remember.

And with Taco Bell continuing to introduce new menu items and surprise returning favorites, the Enchirito's comeback proves one thing: if enough fans ask for something long enough, Taco Bell just might listen.
