Sick of breathing the hazy air outside? Here’s another option.

Stay inside and watch C-SPAN.

No really. You’re going to want to watch C-SPAN this weekend, specifically C-SPAN 2 and C-SPAN 3.

The channel’s productions crews were in Tacoma earlier this summer as part of its national Cities Tour project. As a result, Book TV and American History TV will air segments exploring Tacoma’s literary culture and history.

The schedule:

▪ Book TV Tacoma: 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 on C-SPAN 2, (Comcast Channel 25)

▪ American History TV Tacoma: 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 6 on C-SPAN 3, (Comcast Channel 150)

If you miss those airings because you’re headed out for, say, Seafair, C-SPAN says each segment will be available to view after airing at its online Tacoma city page.

In addition, all segments also will be listed in C-SPAN online video library.
