Light-industrial firm announces new headquarters in this East Pierce County community
The master-planned Tehaleh housing development in the Bonney Lake area of East Pierce County announced its first light-industrial tenant this week.
C.C. Edwards Construction plans to locate its headquarters at Tehaleh, becoming the first light-industrial tenant in Tehaleh’s Employment Center, according to a news release sent Thursday.
The center is “dedicated to commercial development and employment. ... The 33,000-square-foot facility includes a maintenance shop and office for the construction company,” according to the release.
The company is currently located between Puyallup and Sumner.
C.C. Edwards’ 4.66-acre parcel is near Tehaleh Boulevard East and Cascadia Boulevard East, and will accommodate 10 of the company’s employees.
Construction of the site is set to be completed by the end of June.
“We are building our new headquarters to accommodate growth for the next 25 years,” said C.C. Edwards, company founder and owner, in the release. “We’ve been in business for more than 30 years and the Tehaleh location gives us room for expansion.”
Four other parcels near the C.C. Edwards location are also zoned for light industrial with multiple developers considering the sites, according to the release.
Other Tehaleh commercial locations include a business park, home to a self-storage facility and pet resort.
“Later this year Tehaleh will celebrate the opening of the new Canyon View Village Center with its eight acres of retail, restaurants, health clinics and beauty salons,” the release added.
All this comes as Tehaleh continues to add homes toward its projected total of 9,700.
In March, an LLC affiliated with home builder Shea Homes Washington purchased more than 150 parcels from an LLC affiliated with Brookfield Properties for $28.2 million on March 9.
Brookfield Properties acquired Tehaleh master plan developer Newland Communities in 2021. Shea developed Trilogy at Tehaleh, a 55+ community, and the March land deal launches their next project.
