Tacoma Mall has yet another new restaurant coming after an already active summer of announcements.

Knot Korean Steakhouse, outside near the mall’s Food Court entrance, is planned to open early this fall, according to a media representative for the mall.

The new restaurant will replace Blazing Onion, which closed in January.

The steakhouse will offer traditional Korean barbecue, with each table “appointed with a designated grill master, ensuring that even those new to Korean barbecue can fully enjoy the experience,” according to information on the mall’s website.

The site also will “boast an extensive selection of excellent cocktails, wines and other beverages, all carefully curated to complement our dishes and enhance the overall dining experience,” it noted.

The site’s initial building application was filed with the city in December 2023.

Hiring started Aug. 1 with Simon Property Group, owner of the mall, posting on at least one online job board it was hiring for all positions.

No further details were available, including specific opening date.

Also on site, Shake Shack, Gong Cha bubble tea and Happy Lamb Hot Pot are among the brands coming to the mall’s new “village” buildings, The News Tribune reported Monday. Tacoma Mall’s The Village will be two new buildings in the now-parking lot area to the west of Nordstrom Rack, Kohl’s, Ulta Beauty and Total Wine & More.

Up to nine restaurant/tenant spaces are under consideration for the long-planned mall expansion.

The latest mall tenant news follows recent updates on other brands debuting or returning to the mall, including Candy Tyme, Kura Revolving Sushi and Gregorys Coffee.
