Popular Olympia, Puyallup running stores plan debuts with new owners, new name and more
New owners of the former South Sound Running stores have offered an update on what’s next for the stores.
The owners of South Sound Running, with stores in Olympia and Puyallup, announced in early December their retirement and selloff of the stores to Fleet Feet Puget Sound.
New owners Wade and Julie Pannell announced in a release that the Olympia store at 3405 Capitol Blvd. SE will reopen as Fleet Feet Olympia on Jan. 2. The Puyallup site at 115 S. Meridian will reopen as Fleet Feet Puyallup on Jan. 10.
Other Fleet Feet sites include Tacoma, Bonney Lake, Spokane, Spokane North, Spokane Valley and Richland.
Fleet Feet is also introducing its “fit id” technology to the stores, using 3D foot scanning to assess “size, shape, and movement of each customer’s feet,” the release noted.
The stores also will add brands such as HOKA, Altra, and On to existing selections.
Additionally, Fleet Feet will continue the Capital City Marathon Training Program and expand offerings to include “5K programs, long-distance training and trail running, serving runners of all levels,” the release noted.
The stores are hiring. Those interested in applying can contact or send their information to jeremiah@fleetfeettacoma.com.
Carrboro, N.C.-based Fleet Feet has more than 275 stores in 40 states.
