New or remodeled stores are set to open at Tacoma Mall, where upgrades continue

Story has been updated with new details regarding Pop Mart.

Representatives for Tacoma Mall recently offered an update on store openings and what’s to come.

The main mall building, 4502 S. Steele St., is undergoing a multimillion-dollar overhaul, first announced last year, as well as the construction of the new Village addition. The main building upgrades include general interior renovations such as new flooring, seating and lighting, updated Food Court and restrooms/nursing lounge and redesigned entrances, among other improvements.

New or remodeled stores are:

Pop Mart, first announced in May, recently debuting this month with a soft opening. The store is across from Helzberg Diamonds. UPDATE JULY 25: A planned grand opening has been postponed to a later date to be determined.

Jewelry store Pandora is remodeling its space across from Express and will reopen Thursday (July 17). It is across from Express near Nordstrom.

Auntie Anne’s pretzels recently opened its second location next to Express at the mall, and Lululemon is working on an expanded store, anticipated for an August completion.

Tacoma’s second Taco Street location will be opening in the Food Court across from The Drop, with an opening tentatively planned for September, according to a mall release. Taco Street also operates at the Waterfront Market at Point Ruston, 5101 Yacht Club Road.

Meanwhile, The Village at Tacoma Mall has been in the works since the mall’s initial redevelopment launched in 2019 with the demolition of its former longtime Sears anchor store site.

The restaurant-heavy development is set to debut in October, with brands including Shake Shack, Supreme Dumplings, Happy Lamb Hot Pot, Dave’s Hot Chicken, Simply Thai, Gong cha bubble tea, and a Lovesac furniture showroom.
