The wait continues for new Tacoma Mall restaurants, now opening next year

Those looking forward to diving into a meal at Dave’s Hot Chicken in Tacoma will have to wait a little longer.

The brand is among several advertised as opening in the first quarter of next year, according to a Tacoma Mall media representative in response to questions from The News Tribune.

Dave’s was the next anticipated restaurant opening in December following Shake Shack, which opened in November at the new Village at Tacoma Mall.

Lovesac furniture showroom also opened in the Village in November.

In an update this week, a list provided by the mall’s media representative showed the remaining Village restaurants to open sometime in the first quarter of 2026.

In addition to Dave’s, brands at the Village set to open next year include Simply Thai, Gong Cha bubble tea, Supreme Dumpling and Happy Lamb Hot Pot.

Dave’s is also set to open new sites next year in Puyallup (16511 Meridian E.) and Federal Way (The Commons).

For the main mall, brands scheduled for first-quarter openings include Shoe Palace, Swavorski jewelry, Potato Corner (Dining Pavilion), Champs Sports and Clove Indian restaurant, which also has a location at The Landing in Renton.
