Dick’s Sporting Goods coming to Forever 21’s spot in Tacoma Mall

Dick’s Sporting Goods will open a store at Tacoma Mall in the space now occupied by Forever 21, and Forever 21 will likely move to a smaller location elsewhere at the facility.

Following renovation of the store interior, Dick’s will open in the fall of 2017, according to a news release Friday from a Seattle public relations firm representing Tacoma Mall.

Forever 21 is scheduled to close and vacate the space within the next two weeks and is hosting a major sale, said Sarah Bonds, Tacoma Mall spokeswoman.

The fast-fashion retailer is negotiating for a location elsewhere at the mall, Bonds said.

No representatives were available for comment at California-based Forever 21 or at Pennsylvania-based Dick’s on Friday afternoon.
