Where to find a COVID-19 test near you in Tacoma, Pierce County

The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and Pierce County government are operating multiple COVID-19 testing sites.

Pierce County opened a new drive-thru testing site Tuesday at the State Farm parking lot in Dupont that will run for two weeks. Other options are available, including drive-thru locations, walk-up testing and take-home tests. Check the list below to see what’s available.

Many testing sites are available by appointment only. Check the health department’s website for a full list of testing locations

Drive-thru testing

  • Dupont Site: 1000 Wilmington Drive: This site at the State Farm parking lot is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m Tuesday to Saturday. It will open late at 11 a.m. on its first day, Jan. 25. Appointments are not required. Rapid tests are not available.
  • Washington State Fair Bronze Lot: 110 9th Ave. SW in Puyallup. Enter at 10th Avenue Southeast. This site is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. It does not offer rapid tests. Appointments are not required, but people can register online to shorten wait times.

  • Puyallup Tribe Testing Site: 2024 E. 29th St. in Tacoma. This site is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Thursday and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday to Saturday. It does not offer rapid tests.

  • Cheney Stadium: 2502 S. Tyler St. in Tacoma. Tests are available by appointment only, and the site is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. It does not offer rapid tests. Register for a test online here.

  • Bonney Lake park-and-ride: 9201 Sky Island Dr. E. in Bonney Lake. Tests are available by appointment only, and the site is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. It does not offer rapid tests. Register for a test online here.

Walk-up and in-person testing

  • Tran Urgent Care and Wellness Center: 710 S. 38th St., Suite B in Tacoma. This site is open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Sunday. Rapid tests are available. Appointments are not required, but people can register online.

  • University Place Medical Center: 4401 Bridgeport Way W. Tests are available by appointment only by calling 253-564-4157. The site is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Rapid tests are available.

  • Bonney Lake park-and-ride: 9201 Sky Island Dr. E. Walk-up testing is available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Rapid tests are not available. Tests are available by appointment only. Register for a test online here.

  • Tacoma Mall: 4502 S. Steele St., near JC Penney and Firestone Auto Care. Tests are available by appointment only, and the site is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Rapid tests are not available. Testing slots are full for Tuesday. Register for a later test online here.

  • South Hill Mall: 3500 S. Meridian in Puyallup, near Sears. Tests are available by appointment only, and the site is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Rapid tests are not available. Testing slots are full for Tuesday. Register for a later test online here.

Take-home testing

  • Anderson Island Fire and Rescue: 12707 Lake Josephine Blvd. on Anderson Island. Free, take-home COVID-19 test kits are available for people 16 and older. People are not required to show proof of insurance or ID. The site is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Appointments are not needed. For more information, call 253-884-4040.

  • Kirk’s Pharmacy in Eatonville, Sunrise and Puyallup. Free take-home COVID-19 tests are available for people 16 and older, regardless of insurance or immigration status. People must register online to pick up the testing kit. Locations are open 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The Puyallup location is closed Saturday.
