Man killed in head-on crash in Tacoma is identified
A 44-year-old man who died Tuesday in a head-on crash in Tacoma has been identified as Dale Everett.
Police said Everett, from Fircrest, was traveling east on Center Street about 3 p.m. when he failed to go around a curve near the park and ride and just east of the Home Depot entrance.
Everett’s VW Passat went across the center line and hit a westbound vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver, a 74-year-old woman in a Hyundai Elantra, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
A third driver who rear-ended the woman’s car after it was hit by Everett was not injured.
The 4600 block of Center Street was closed until 7 p.m. while police investigated the collision.
It’s unclear why Everett failed to negotiate the turn in the road.
