Body found under Tacoma bridge identified
A body found Saturday under a bridge on Yakima Avenue has been identified by the Pierce County Medical Examiner.
John McElwain, a 57-year-old homeless man, died of ischemic heart disease, according to the medical examiner office.
Tacoma Police responded at 1:05 p.m. Saturday to a call from a friend of McElwain. The friend found McElwain under the bridge near the 3600 block of Yakima Avenue.
