Beloved Eatonville High School student identified following fatal car crash

A 16-year-old has been identified as the victim in a one-vehicle crash near Eatonville.

Jason Naro, of Eatonville, died from multiple blunt-force injuries Monday afternoon, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Naro was driving a truck in the 33300 block of Webster Road East when he drove off the road and struck a large tree. Fire crews extricated Naro and took him to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup where he died, The News Tribune previously reported.

Naro was a junior at Eatonville High School and had strong family ties to the community.

The Evergreen Bass Club and Washington State Bass Federation posted tributes expressing the impact that Naro had as a member of their organization.

The Washington State Bass Federation posted, “We are saddened as an organization and personally from this tragic loss. This young man touched many lives and is an honored member of this community.”

Naro was a varsity football player at Eatonville High School. A celebration of life will be held at 8 p.m. Oct. 30 at the EHS football field after the final junior varsity game of the season, Eatonville Sports News said in a Facebook post.

Many community members and loved ones posted tributes on social media for Naro with the number “33” alongside it, which was his jersey number.
