Forgot an ingredient for Thanksgiving dinner? These grocery stores in Tacoma will be open

Forgetting an important ingredient for a meal is stressful on any given day, but it can be a lot more stressful when it happens on a holiday since many stores are closed.

If you find yourself in that situation this Thanksgiving, there’s no need to worry because many grocery stores in Tacoma will be open. Here are the holiday hours for eight grocery stores in the area.

Tacoma grocery store hours for Thanksgiving

While some groceries might be closed on Thanksgiving, several stores will be open during usual hours and some will have adjusted hours of operation.

Safeway

All Safeway locations in Tacoma will be open for regular hours, from 5 a.m. to midnight. Safeway pharmacies’ hours might be affected by the holiday, depending on each location.

Fred Meyer

Fred Meyer will be open on Thanksgiving but will close early. Fred Meyer will be open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving and will reopen at 5 a.m. on Friday and close at 10 p.m.

There are three Fred Meyer locations in Tacoma.

WinCo Foods

Both WinCo Foods locations in Tacoma will be open on Thanksgiving but will have adjusted hours of operation.

WinCo Foods at 1913 S 72nd St. will open from 5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving and will return to normal hours Friday.

WinCo Foods at 6201 6th Ave. has adjusted its hours of operation to keep the store open for over 24 hours beginning Wednesday. According to store hours on the WinCo’s website, that location will be open from 5 a.m. on Wednesday through 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and reopen on Friday at 7 a.m.

Metropolitan Market

The Metropolitan Market located in the Proctor District will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Tacoma Boys

Tacoma Boys will be be open for normal 24-hours of operation.

Costco

Costco will be closed on Thanksgiving but will be open the following day for Black Friday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Walmart Supercenter

Walmart Supercenter will be closed for Thanksgiving and will reopen for normal business hours the following day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Target

Target will be closed on Thanksgiving but will reopen the following morning two hours earlier than normal at 6 a.m. for Black Friday.
