24-year-old motorcyclist killed following crash in Lakewood officially identified
The motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in Lakewood last week has been identified as 24-year-old Jamarcus Lett, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Lett died from blunt-force trauma to the neck on Dec. 11 near South 84th Street & Pine Street South. His manner of death was ruled as an accident, the office said in a news release.
Just before 1 p.m., officers responded to the crash and heard a motorcycle on fire, The News Tribune reported.
Another vehicle was traveling east on 84th Street South and making a left turn to go north when it collided with the motorcyclist, who was driving west, the story said. First responders performed CPR on Lett. The other vehicle’s driver was taken a hospital with non-serious injuries.
“It’s possible that speed was a factor in all of this,” Lakewood Police Department spokesman Sgt. Charles Porche told The News Tribune on Dec. 11. “But we are still going to have to do some additional follow-up to determine whether or not (that occurred).”
The News Tribune has reached out to Lakewood PD for updates on the crash.
