The Hylebos Bridge in Tacoma has closed again after technical malfunction.

The bridge, which is located off East 11th Street in the Tacoma Tideflats, is closed to vehicles. The City of Tacoma’s Public Works Engineering Division is working with crews to fix the problem, according to a news release.

The bridge will be open to cargo ships as repairs are being made, the release said.

The city said it will take about one week to finish the repair.

Most recently, the bridge closed in January after its drawbridge had mechanical issues from cold weather. Before that, in November, motor failure caused the bridge closure. The estimated cost to replace the motor was $50,000, the city said at the time.
