2 Powerball tickets just miss massive jackpot but still win in Washington
Two Powerball tickets sold in Washington state just missed the massive $936 million jackpot, but still won thousands, a lottery official said.

One of the tickets scored $50,000, while the other won $150,000 thanks to a Power Play multiplier, a Washington’s Lottery spokesperson told The News Tribune by email.

Where were winning Washington Powerball tickets sold?
The winning $50,000 ticket was sold at the Fred Meyer grocery store at 5502 Point Fosdick Drive in Gig Harbor, the Washington’s Lottery official said.
Gig Harbor is about a 14-mile drive northwest from Tacoma.
The other winning ticket was sold at CenterPlace Market, 622 East Broadway St., in Goldendale, according to the lottery official.
That “player added on Power Play, which was 3x (on Dec. 10), turning the $50,000 prize into $150,000,” the lottery official said in the email.
Goldendale is in south-central Washington near the Oregon border, about a 230-mile drive southeast from Tacoma.
What were winning Powerball numbers?
The winning numbers in the Powerball drawing on Wednesday, Dec. 10, were 10, 16, 29, 33 and 69, with a Powerball of 22.
No one took home the jackpot, but tickets sold in Maryland, Michigan and New Jersey won $1 million each, the national Powerball website said.
A total of 37 tickets won $50,000 nationwide, and 14 more won $150,000 thanks to a Power Play multiplier.
The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 292,201,338, per the website.

The next Powerball drawing is at 7:59 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13.

The Powerball jackpot is an estimated $1 billion, with a cash value of $461.3 million, the Powerball website said.

“The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball,” according to the Powerball website, which noted that “the Powerball jackpot grows until it is won.”
