Here’s when local grocery stores and other popular retailers close on Wednesday, Dec. 24, for Christmas Eve, according to their websites or employees:
- Costco: 5 p.m.
- Fred Meyer: 6 p.m.
- Grocery Outlet: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. depending on the location
- Metropolitan Market: 6 p.m.
- Safeway: 7 p.m.
- Tacoma Boys: 3 or 4 p.m. depending on the location
- Target: 8 p.m.
- Walmart: 6 p.m.
- WinCo: 5:30 p.m.
When is Safeway open on Christmas Day?
If you find yourself in need of groceries on Christmas Day, you can head to at least one grocery store chain with multiple locations in Tacoma.
Several Safeway locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 25, including stores on Proctor Street, North Pearl Street, M Street, South 38th Street, South 56th Street and 72nd Street East, according to the Safeway website.
