Body found in Puyallup lake identified as missing woman, authorities say
Authorities have identified a body that police found in a Puyallup lake earlier this week.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the body as 60-year-old Ginger Meier, who was last seen at her home in Puyallup on Jan. 11.
Police found her body in Bradley Lake at Bradley Lake Park on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Kevin Gill, spokesperson for the Puyallup Police Department, told The News Tribune that officers arrived on scene after getting a call from a resident who saw something sticking out of the water.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has listed Meier’s cause and manner of death as “pending.” Additional information is needed to make a determination.
Carly Cappetto, spokesperson for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, previously told The News Tribune that a family member called police after Meier went missing in January. The family shared information with investigators that suggested Meier was in danger, though Cappetto declined to share specifics.
“We do not believe she’s safe,” Cappetto told The News Tribune on Jan. 22.
Meier’s car was later found in the area of Bradley Lake Park, the same area where police found her body 23 days later.
