The Tacoma Police Department arrested a man in connection with last month’s shooting along 96th Street on Thursday, spokesperson Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

The department’s SWAT team and Special Investigations Unit brought the suspect into custody on a warrant for first degree assault, Boyd said.

At approximately 5:30 on March 15, police and TFD crews were dispatched to the 2000 block of 96th Street South, just east of Interstate 5 and north of State Route 512.

An adult male was found on scene and transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
