Oh, boy. 2 lanes of Tacoma Narrows Bridge closed for emergency repairs Tuesday

The Tacoma Narrows Bridge is once again undergoing temporary lane closures for emergency repairs.

Two lanes are closed across westbound State Route 16 from Jackson Avenue to the Narrows Bridges’ east end, the Washington Department of Transportation shared on X.

The Jackson Avenue ramp to SR-16 is closed as well.

Crews are repairing a broken bridge joint, the post said.

Afternoon commuters should expect congestion and delays on the bridge.

The bridge underwent similar bridge repairs in April and May of this year.

The westbound part of the bridge was built in 1950 and requires repairs, but a lack of funding has hindered improvements.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
