Motorcyclist who died in Tacoma crash IDed by Medical Examiner

A motorcyclist who died in a crash on July 3 has been identified.

According to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s public portal, the man was 20-year-old Joshua Penland of Tacoma.

The crash happened at 8 p.m. at the intersection of Tacoma Mall Boulevard and South 66th Street, The News Tribune previously reported, when a vehicle turning from South 66th Street collided with Penland, who was traveling south.

Shelbie Boyd, spokesperson for the Tacoma Police Department, previously told The News Tribune that crews took Penland to the hospital, but he later died of his injuries.
