Second passenger dies after Fife crash

A second passenger in a car that hit a power pole on Interstate 5 in Fife last weekend died of his injuries, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Vuthy J. Khim, 25, died Tuesday.

Elias J. Solis, 19 of Roslyn, died Saturday after the car the two men were in crashed near the Port of Tacoma off-ramp.

Troopers believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident.

The car’s driver was a 25-year-old Tacoma man who lost control of the car as he tried to exit I-5 and hit a wooden utility pole.

The driver and a third man, 26, were hurt and taken to Tacoma General Hospital. The driver remains in critical condition.

Everyone was wearing their seat belts except the driver, the State Patrol said.
