State Route 410 drivers: Expect weeks of delays during roundabout construction work
State Route 410 drivers should expect delays this month while crews work on a project to install a roundabout on state Route 410 in Bonney Lake.
“Starting today, the current traffic control plan will change and vehicle traffic will be shifted from the south side of SR 410 to the north side,” the city posted on Facebook Monday afternoon. “The lane shift is anticipated to last 4-5 weeks.”
The work is part of the Peak 410 Business Park project. Crews will work 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
The developer is installing a roundabout at the entrance to the business park at state Route 410 and 224th Avenue East, in addition to building new sidewalks and doing utility work.
“Traffic congestion and delays are expected due to lane reductions, lane shifts, and a lower speed limit,” the city’s social media post said. “Please allow more time for travel or take alternate routes during the work.”
It is the second phase of the work and the second lane shift. Work between 219th Avenue East and 233rd Avenue East started Aug. 19. The city expects the project to be finished by November, according to its website.
Crews have also closed 224th Avenue East south of state Route 410 for the next several weeks. A temporary road is being built so that drivers can access a business off 100th Street East, the city’s post said.
The most recent plan for the 64-acre Peak 410 development says it will have: “a range of employment and other economic activity, including light industrial, manufacturing, warehouse/distribution, retail and related office uses,” The News Tribune reported.
The plan calls for 10 buildings and includes a drive-thru coffee shop and the potential for a Wilco Farm Store, among other things.
