Man killed in Tacoma drive-by shooting has been identified
A 28-year-old shot to death while sitting in a friend’s car in Tacoma late Wednesday has been identified as Robert Doss II.
Doss had just climbed inside the 2004 Ford Explorer and was eating food when gunshots rang out about 10:50 p.m.
Both he and the 20-year-old woman behind the wheel were shot while parked at the intersection of South 14th Street and L Street.
The woman immediately drove to a nearby hospital, where Doss was pronounced dead.
The woman suffered minor injuries and is expected to survive.
She told police she had no idea why somebody would shoot at her vehicle, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.
No one has been arrested.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
