Three men arrested in connection with fatal shooting in Tacoma’s North End

Three men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Tacoma’s North End.

Police were called to a house in the 3800 block of North 21st Street about 1 a.m. Sunday and found Brian Cendejas, 25, suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and died of his injuries later that night.

Detectives have not released information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Late Wednesday, two search warrants were served and three men were taken into custody and booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter. One was also booked on suspicion of first-degree unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

This is the first homicide in Tacoma this year.

“Brian was the best friend anyone could ask for,” according to a GoFundMe page. “His contagious laughter and heart-warming smile will forever be remembered.”

The page had more than $5,500 by Thursday morning.
