Transient fatally shot in Tacoma has been identified

A man fatally shot in Tacoma late Wednesday has been identified as a 36-year-old transient.

Several people heard gunshots about 11:30 p.m. in the 300 block of East 26th Street and called 911.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Raymond Martine Serrano lying in the middle of the street.

Police and paramedics performed life-saving efforts, but Serrano was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one has been arrested.

Detectives are trying to figure out what led up to the shooting.

This is the city’s fourth homicide this month, and seventh of the year.
