Judge sets bail for felon accused of killing member of gang and police dog
Bail has been set at $2 million for Dyrell Swinson, 27, who is accused of fatally shooting a fellow gang member and then killing a Tacoma police dog during his arrest.
On Aug. 17, Pierce County prosecutors charged Swinson with second-degree murder, harming a police dog, three counts of first-degree assault and one count of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
During his arrest, Swinson was shot by a Tacoma Police Officer and later hospitalized. He was arraigned on Aug. 24 after being discharged.
At the time of the shootings, Swinson was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender.
Charging documents state that bail was set by Judge Clarence Henderson Jr.
