Officials identify man killed in Spanaway traffic collision

A man who died Oct. 25 after his car collided with a truck in Spanaway has been identified by the Pierce County medical examiner.

Sean Edward Cortado Jr., 27, died of blunt head and torso trauma, according to a news release from the office. Cortado was from Graham. The office ruled his death an accident.

The collision occurred at about 4:40 p.m. in the 4700 block of 240th Street East, Pierce County deputies said. At the scene, deputies found Cortado dead in his sedan. Witnesses told deputies the sedan fish-tailed and collided with the front of a Ford F350.

The driver of the truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
