Victim of Valentine’s Day hit and run identified. Other driver being sought by police
A 34-year-old Tacoma woman who died after colliding with another car and a tree while apparently fleeing a road-rage incident Feb. 14 was identified Monday by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Jennifer Staley died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the medical examiner. Staley’s 2015 Scion crashed in the front yard of a home on Orchard Street in Tacoma.
A man who witnesses say was chasing Staley in another vehicle is still being sought by Tacoma Police detectives.
The man, in his 20s or 30s, was driving a silver 2015 or newer Mercedes C-Class, four-door sedan with a black roof. He was wearing a down vest over a dark hooded sweatshirt that had red writing on the sleeve. He was also wearing blue jeans and white and red shoes.
The man reportedly fled from the scene at Center and South Orchard streets.
Tipsters who know anything about the man can call 1-800-222-TIPS or use the P3 Tips app. Tipsters can receive up to $1,000 for information leading to the man’s arrest and charges.
