Man found in Tacoma ravine died from stab wound

A man found dead in a ravine in Tacoma died from a stab wound to the neck, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The remains of Jesus Isidor-Mendoza, 19, were found Monday in a wooded ravine in the 3000 block of Delin Street. Officials recovered his body Tuesday.

Isidor-Mendoza’s mother reported him missing in October when he failed to come home. He last was seen leaving his mom’s house Oct. 22 for class at Pierce College. He never arrived.

Tacoma police detectives are not sure when Isidor-Mendoza was killed and are interviewing friends, family members and associates to determine whether anyone saw him in late October or early November.

It’s not clear how long Isidor-Mendoza’s body was in the ravine before as passerby spotted it.

Police said the area is frequented by transients and Isidor-Mendoza’s body was dumped in a ravine behind a derelict house.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
